The design of the Veteran Health website was important, but it’s not what people come to see. They want the site and its content organised in such a way that they can easily find specific pieces or complete actions on their own – which means you need simple pages with only necessary elements (i e. those without any unnecessary fluff). From a usability perspective simplicity really does pay off: if all page parts are clear cut then there won’t be anything confusing about how things work together while browsing.
